Meet the Makers - Hug Me Harry
Hi, my name is Kate but you may also know me as Hug Me Harry
What are you known for?
Being the owner of Hug Me Harry, but maybe more specifically my hand written notes or wrapping paper! I am a stationery ADDICT!
What's your favourite piece that you've designed?
I'm not a designer but rather a stockist of amazing designers! I'm lucky enough sell Baccurelli, Revere Folie, Lou Taylor, Layla Amber, Kimchi and Coconut and most recently, Tatty Devine who have always been some of my absolute favourite creators.
What do you do when you have a creative block?
Well, thankfully my mind is always ticking over and I have no shortage of ideas. It's more about finding the time and the man power to make the dreams come to life! I think my family member's dread any text from me that says 'I have an idea'!
Best compliment you've ever received?
When someone compliments my customer service, my heart sings! Every. single. time.
What is/was your ultimate unicorn?
The original Sammy the Sloth by Erstwilder. Lucky for me I was able to buy him last year. Happy Days!
Describe yourself in 5 words
Hardworking, driven, loving, sarcastic, control freak.
You can invite 3 people living or dead to dinner, who would they be?
My Grandma and my two sons Harry and Samuel...I wish they had had the chance to meet.
What would your autobiography be called?
Working Mums are tired, have messy houses and never have any food in the house...one woman's tale.
What song/film/book do you wish you had written?
Run the World (Girls) - Beyonce.
What are you most excited for at Brooch Lovers Big Day Out Sydney?
It's so hard to pick just one thing, but it would have to be meeting all my excellent customers who have shopped with me over the last six years. They have become more like friends but I've never had the chance to meet many of them in person! That will be pretty special. Melbourne was such a blast, I've been wanting to do another one ever since! Sydney was the next logical step...but who knows that 2018 has in store...
